The J1939 Add-in for the PCAN-Diag FD extends the diagnosis with support for the SAE J1939 standard. The CAN data traffic is interpreted according to the supplied J1939 database and presented in a user-understandable way. In addition, the add-in contains functions such as decoding multipacket messages, claiming addresses and processing diagnostic information.

SAE J1939 describes communication in commercial vehicles via CAN. Using PGs (Parameter Groups) and SPs (Suspect Parameters), the standard defines messages and user data for the transmission of diagnostic data and control information.

The J1939 add-in is activated via a device-specific license file, which can also be purchased later for a PCAN-Diag FD. Updates of the supplied J1939 database are included for a period of 2 years. An extension for another 2 years can be purchased separately.
