The SG-gateway is a remote terminal unit and Smart Grid gateway for the energy market with an M-Bus Master interface for reading up to 64 remote energy meters. In addition, it includes 2 digital S0 inputs and 2 digital outputs.
The Ixxat SG-gateway supports the communication protocols used in the energy sector, e.g. IEC60870-5-104 and IEC61850.
The gateway can also support the connected electric equipment in the field, via an Ethernet interface and/or a serial port, using the protocols Modbus TCP and RTU. As an option, the SG-gateway can include 3G modem.

Easy web-PLC-programming
The application logic can be programmed on the device either using the integrated graphical web editor or by using a predefined configuration loaded to the device. The graphical web editor is a very intuitive and easy to use interface to program software applications and configure the gateway. No engineering tools are required and it can easily be accomplished by service technicians.
